10 Reasons You Are Dying Spiritually

Romans 12:11-13 "not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality."

To die spiritually means to be in a state that you are not growing (maturing and increasing in the things of God) and that causes your drive, fire and passion for God and His Kingdom to begin to decline and eventually cease altogether. Spiritually as believers we should be on fire and we should be continuously growing and progressing in our walk with God along with our purpose in the earth. Because this concept has become common in the Body of Christ I compiled a list of some of the most prevalent reasons as to why people stop growing and begin to regress. 1. NO PRAYER LIFE: It is impossible to thrive and stay alive spiritually while being disconnected from the source. Prayer is our means of communication to the Heavenly Father. Without prayer we live outside His presence, we struggle to learn and recognize His voice, and we are not close to Him. P *I Thessalonians 5:16-18 "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." *Luke 18:1 "And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;" 2. NO WORD: We all have to spend time learning, reading, studying and laboring in the Word. We don't have a leg to stand on without knowing the Word. The Word of God is alive because God and His Word are one. We cannot know God, the way He speaks or too much about Him period without the Word. The Word is our sword without it the enemy is able to quickly snuff us out. *Hebrews 4:12 " For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. " *John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." 3. ISOLATION: The enemy loves to keep people isolated and off to themselves. Many people find themselves all alone away from the very people that can encourage, minister and speak life into them. Isolation is an easy way for the enemy to get some off by themself and pick them a apart. Isolation allows a person to practically drown with no one around to help them. *Proverbs 18:1 "One who has isolated himself seeks his own desires; he rejects all sound judgment." 4. NO INVESTMENT: In order to keep growing we have to continue to receive fresh manna. Many fail to read anointed books, listen to anointed teachings or attend events where God is downloading stong imparations and upgrading His people. Many have fooled themselves by believing they don't need anything that comes from any other person. So instead of growing they stay stagnant refusing to receive fresh revelation and impartation. 5. UNPLANTED: Some refuse to stay planted anywhere. Many people for a number of reasons find themselves unwilling to remain planted at any ministry more than a few months. This causes many to miss out on the opporutnitiy to be discipled and to serve others. There are many benefits to being submitted and planted in a local assmebly. *Psalm 92:13 "Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God." 6. PRIDE: Pride is a blinder of the heart and mind and will allow you to feel that you are ok. Pride will cause an individual to always feel that they have the answers even when they fail to bare fruit in a particular area. Pride will not allow a person to ask for help even if they are struggling to the point of drowning. They would rather continue wasting time wandering on a fruitless and victory lacking journey than to just ask for help. There is nothing wrong with learning from other ministry gifts no one person has it all. *Galatians 6:3 "For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself." *James 4:6 "But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble." 7. UNTEACHABLE SPIRIT: Many have taken scriptures out of context and literally believe they need no further teaching, impartation or training from anyone else. They expect the Holy Spirit to allow them to bypass the need for the ascension gifts. These type of people stay frustrated when they don't see the increase, fruit, success and prosperity of those who are humble enough to admit they don't know it all and will submit to be taught. *Proverbs 9:9 "Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning. " *Proverbs 13:18 "Poverty and disgrace come to him who ignores instruction, but whoever heeds reproof is honored. " 8. REFUSING DELIVERANCE: We all need deliverance for it is the children's bread. It is sad to see believers or even leaders bound and even tormented because pride has them to haughty to realize and admit they need deliverance. Some people would rather suffer with nightmares, sleepless nights, confusion in the mind, and the inability to break free then to humble themselves to receive the ministry of deliverance. Many times titles and positions (Apostle, Bishop, Pastor etc.) cause people to feel that deliverance shouldn't apply to them because they are anointed and called . *Hebrews 11:35b "and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:" 9. CARNAL & WORLDLY: Our appetites have a huge and direct impact on our spiritual growth. If we are more excited and more engaged in things of the world more than we hunger and thirst after righteousness that is a problem. Many things in the world are distractions that keep us from doing the things that matter (praying, fasting, reading the Word etc.,). The bible lets us know to be carnal minded is death there is no growth, momentum or increase that comes when we are carnal and fleshly. *I Corinthians 3:3 "For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?" *Galatians 5:17 "For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would." *Romans 8:6 "For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace." 10. NOT SPIRIT-FILLED: We are powerless and unable to fulfill our assignment without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. There is so much we will miss out on and only so much we will witness in our lives without receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit. We need the Holy Spirit to empower us that we might walk in the Spirit and not the flesh. We are more prone to being and remaining without receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit. *Acts 19:2-6 " he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” So they said to him, “We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.” And he said to them, “Into what then were you baptized?”So they said, “Into John’s baptism.” Then Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.” When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied. "
